Genuine Windows XP

Most of the big names in computers mention ' Genuine Windows XP ' in their
adverts of computers. I do not understand why the term ' Genuine ' is
mentioned. Maybe they sell their products with pirated Windows ?
Hope someone can explain this terminology.

Not sure where the confusion is for you.

Genuine is meant to convey 'legitimate' in this case - meaning the copy of
Windows XP you receive when purchasing the PC is a legitimate copy of
Windows XP - or in your words - *not* a pirated Windows.

Why wouldn't you utilize the same vocabulary as those who produce the
product so that your customers will understand you are in agreement with
them?

It's a marketing decision. I agree that it's silly. Of course, it's
genuine! Duh!
