Generic/text printing

I am using Epson LQ-21880 printer. I use continuous checks. The application
is on a windows 2003 server. I have 2 client machines win xp and win 98. I
installed Generic/Text Drivers on both the client machines.
From the Windows 98 machine the checks print fine.
From the windows XP (professional) machine, after the first check is printed
the printer is doing a form feed thus ruinning checks and allignment.
Searched the web without luck.
Any help will greatly be appreciated

Try speciying 'Cont. Feed - No Break' for the paper source.

I wouldn't advise using the Generic / Text Only driver if yuo can avvoid it.
Why not use an Epson driver?

By using the Epson Drivers the problem remains the same, I also tried using
the 'Cont. Feed - No Break' without any luck. I probably need new drivers for
Windows XP as it works fine on Windows 98.
Thanks for your response.

What driver are you using on Windows XP?

Drivers are OS specific. You must use a driver specifically designed for
Windows XP. You should also be using the latest version. This is usually the
one found on the manufacturer's web site and NOT the one distributed on CD
either included with Windows or that came with the printer.

I am having the same problem with an Epson T1000. I have several posts to
this site with no real help. I have found by printing to a file and then
using a Hex Editor that spaces are added to for the horizontal margin and
line feeds are used to contol the page length. I am trying to find more info
regarding the printer commands.
