Generic Host Processes for Win32 Problem

This is making me nuts everytime I browse the net or playing an online
game.. After 15 mins or so of browsing or game, this box pops up

"Generic Host Processes for Win32 has encountered a problem and
needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience"

What is the problem of my pc? My AV is updated and everytime I scan my
pc, I doesn't find anything. I hope someone out there could help me
out. Thanks.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

In most cases the error is fixed by installing an update from a page
that doesn't mention the error at all. See the link in the first
