Generic host process

D

Dunc

Every time I start my computer I get a "Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft
Windows" window pop up. In the window it says:
To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.
Name: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
Publisher: Microsoft Corporation

And when I try to close this message it re-appears immediately.

I have Windows XP and have service pack 3 installed already. I have also
tried every step Microsoft suggests but I still get this window.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Please post a complete copy of the Errot Report from Event Viewer.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

I ended up un-installing the software for my new HP printer/scanner. I no
longer get the error message.
