Generic Host Process for Win32 Services

Several times when I turn on my my computer I get the error "Generic Host
Process for Win32 Services" I clicked on the help and it seemed that it is
easy to fix but it asks me to go to the windows update page. My computer is
a Dell that came with the Win Xp home edition and the disks that came with
it does not show any verification code so I am afraid that the online update
will ask me for it once the fix has been done and I will not be able to
provided it.

Does any one with a Dell or other similar brand computer knows how to fix
this?

Thanks
