More than likely this has been covered, but with no
search functionality ...

Recently, when starting my computer, a small MSAS
notification window pops up with the title:
gcasDTServHolder. It has several (nonfunctioning)
buttons which having to do with showing/hiding icon in
systray, etc. When I close it then MSAS closes too.

Help appreciated.

The visibility of this window is a bug. Did you change video drivers or add
a multi-monitor setup, or some bit of utility software from Microsoft or
your video card vendor? I've seen this myself on pretty plain vanilla
machines, but it has been a good while, and I can't recall the
circumstances.

A display bug huh? It so happens that about the time I
installed new drivers for my Nvidia graphics card the
error started appearing. I hadn't associated the two.

The error had been dormant for some time, and now I've
added a second Nvidia graphics card AND second monitor
which, I assume, is causing the bug to rear it's ugly
head once again.

This needs a fix. As noted before, if the "bug" window
is closed, the MSAS utility closes too. (Of course this
negates "Start with Windows" functionality.) It should be
mentioned that this behavior does not happen at every
system startup; maybe 1/2 of the time.

Nice call, Andre.
