games haywire

All of a sudden my games have gone haywire. When I click on a card, and try
to drag it to pile, it will go wherever it wants, not where I want. If I
click on the pile, sometimes it will turn 2 cards at once. I have tried
suggestions I saw on this newsgroup, trying to add the games (go to
Add/Remove, add Windows components, click on games), but then even though I
do not click on anything else, everything gets changed. I lose my IE,
Outlook Express, etc., and I have to do a system restore to get all back.
Any suggestions?

Since it seems you are having problems with more than games, it sounds like
you may have a virus or similar issue. Run Anit-virus and spyware programs.

Thanks to Christy--however, I have already run anti-virus and spyware
programs, and they found no problems. Any other suggestions.....

Yes! Format the drive and do a clean (full) install of Windows
XP. That is the only 100% effective way of removing all viruses
and other forms of malware.
