fullscreen in dos mode

i cant run old games in dos mode, or even run cmd.com
in fullsceen, when loading cmd.com and press Alt+Entr
i get a reply that the computer cannot go to fullscreen,
retry or close, i run a winxp amd with matrox g450 dual
head card, and i know it wasnt like that a few monthes ago
but since thne i install some updates and stuff, anyone
have a clue?

that's not the problem,
im running an old vga game that suppose to run
on the screen like dos,
the emulated dos command in xp suppose to do it
and failed, giving me an error massage saying it cant
switch to full screen for unknown problem,
