Hi there,
Need your assistance.I have a machine running Win2k (SP4)
and another machine running OS/2. The problem is, I use a
ftp programme on OS/2 to transfer some files from the
WIN2k machine. These are the rules.

1.The FTP program will log into the Win2k machine.
2.It will look for specific files with specified names.
3.Once found,it will start transferring the file to OS/2
machine.
4. Once transfer completed, the FTP programme will send a
delete command to delete the file that has been
transferred from the Win2k machine.Eg: That means, if file
with name ocftest has been transferred to the OS/2 machine
from Win2k machine, the file will be deleted in the Win2k
machine.

The problem is, this procedures does not work on Win2k
machine. It does work on NT4. Please help as I need to
upgrade the NT4 to Win2k.

Thanking you in advance,
Daniel.M

Hi Ricardo,
Thanks for your reply. Anyway, these are further
information.I did install a trial s/ware Ultra Network
Sniffer to log all the events.Through observation, I found
out that the ""DELETE" command after file transfer from
Win2k machine to OS/2 machine was not sent by the OS/2 ftp
s/ware.What went wrong. Was it the OS/2 ftp did not send
these command or the WIN2k machine did not acknowledge the
command? Is there something to do with security policy in
Win2k machine? You can mail me at (e-mail address removed).

Thanking you in advance,

Daniel, delete permissions are not typically enabled by defualt on the
W2K FTP server. You have to open IIS administration to manage the FTP
security settings.
