Under Win2K, FTP file cannot be delete, but under WinXP it is feasible

Hi all,

Under desktops with Windows 2000 Pro, I cannot delete any files on a FTP
site, but under Windows XP with same user account, files can be deleted. On
the other hand, uploading and downloading are OK under any OS.

I have tried several PCs the situation is same, so I guess the default
settings for Win2K may have a little bit difference with Win XP. Does anyone
there have any idea about resolving this problem?

I run Win2000 and I have no problem deleting files from an FTP
site, using IE6 and logging on under an appropriate account.

For other FTP sites, using Win2K I can also do any file operations, upload,
download, delete, rename and create folder, etc, but on this specific one, I
need to set PASV mode to access, is there any other setting I should switch
on?

I can't comment since I know nothing about this particular site.
Perhaps your Subject line should have been "Cannot delete
files from one particular FTP site with Win2000". It would
put the correct focus on your post.
