Frontpage load problem

This is strange... Have been using Frontpage every day and today it fails to
load properly - by properly I mean I get the Frontpage loading box and then
half of the screen goes gray (the right-hand half) and the computer hangs and
has to be rebooted.

I am using Windows ME and frontpage 2000- I used the repair facility on the
disk and it made no difference. I then removed frontpage via the control
panel and re-installed it - exactly the same! Any ideas?

Try finding and deleting the cmdui.prf file and all web cache (*.web) files

Hi Stefan, well I used the fp cleaner you suggested also scanned and
defraged and.. it worked. so thankyou. However their is still a glimmer of
the half graypage between the flash screen and when the password box comes
up. maybe it's normal and I just haven't noticed it before. Anyway I can
live with it.

Perhaps your video card is at fault if what you describe is so, then it
sounds like a display/card problem. That'd certainly explain why the
problem never cleared up totally - even on doing the fpcleaner, defrag,
scandisk and resintall.

You might try updating your drivers for the video card; from the
manufacturer web site. Also do a windows update from microsoft.com

Hi Andrew, I did wonder about that but wouldn't it affect other programs as
well? - WORD and ACCESS etc all seem to behave normally.

Perhaps your video card is at fault if what you describe is so, then it
sounds like a display/card problem. That'd certainly explain why the

Not necessarily.

For what ever reason, FrontPage actually does check and see what kind of
display adapter is installed on a machine when FrontPage is launched.
