Front page 2002 loading problem

Bob

I have windows 98se and did manage to load FP2002 over my
FP98 to be used together I then had a problem with my
computer and had to reformat machine.
I have put FP98 back on then tried to install 2002 as
before it now says another version is installed and to go
to control panel to remove it is not on control panel and
therefore cant find out how to install FP2002 again.

You should be able to do a custom install to select the location for FP2002 different from the FP98 install

IMHO
FP98 and FP2002 are so different I would not run them together on same machine

Thanks for the reply. The problem I have is that it wont
even go any further than giving me the error message and I
cant fix or install as it says it is already installed and
requires to be removed, well of course its not installed
and I cant make the cd believe me it is not on my machine.
I have even removed FP98 again and re booted and then
tried the FP2002 it still says to remove the old program
from control panel.

Remove any references of FP from the registry and see if that helps. Be
sure to back up the registry, first.

Somehow you have a failed installation
Download and run the Windows Installer cleanup tool from
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Hello Bob... Your registry may be your next option, but only if you are
comfortable with working inside the registry. If you are comfortable enough
then enter the registry and do a search for "Frontpage", then just delete
all entries that it finds and continues to find as you press f3.

If you need help with this, it may not be the place for you, as a wrong turn
can leave Win98 inoperatable... at which time you will be back to doing
another formating procedure. I only mention this because you are already
working at a fresh format and install without risk of losing a lot.

You reach the registry by choosing "start" then run and typing in "regedit"
and enter.

Wish you luck,

Luther
