From average to advanced in PowerPoint & Preview screen

I'd say that I'm a fairly competent user of PowerPoint. I probably know
about 2/3 of its features, though that's just a guess. I'm going to be
teaching a university lecture course this coming semester and I'll be using
PowerPoint in every class. I'd like to move from average to advanced in my
knowledge of how to give great presentations. What training resources and
other materials could you recommend that will help me to become much better
at at this?
By the way, when I give a PP Presentation, I see on my computer screen
the same thing that the audience sees. But it would be very helpful if I
could see on my computer an smaller frame showing what the next slide will
be, in a manner similar to the way one can have two channels showing on a TV
screen. That way, when I'm explaining the current slide, I'm also being cued
on what is coming up. Does such a feature exist?
Thanks.

For giving presentations, see if they have a Toastmasters club on campus.
For learning more about PowerPoint, you're already at a place where you can
pick up a lot of knowledge. Just come here every day and look through the
posts to soak up the knowledge.

Thanks for your reply. I was wonderhng, however, if there were online courses
or other materials that are freely available online to help one advance one's
knowledge so as to give more effective PowerPoint presentations.

Hi John, Thank you for your reply. Yes it does help, I think. There is a
complicating factor. When I posted this question, I was using this Office
2007 Beta. I found the program to be too unstable, so I uninstalled the
program and reinstalled Office 2002. Unfortunately, that version of office
didn't have PowerPoint, so I am using my Office 2000 version. I didn't see
in this, the item to which you were referring. Do you know if it's there, or
do I have to upgrade?

Thanks again,
Bob

Presenter view isn't part of Office 2000. You'd need 2002 or higher.

Thanks Steve. I need to get an upgrade, but I'll wait until I get my next
computer with Vista and Office 2007. At that point, I'll look for this
feature.

The new version of Presenter in 2007's supposed to have some really nice bells and
whistles. Unfortunately, my rig doesn't support it here so I can't play. :-(
