Freezing at the same place

I run the Beta and it freezes at the same place every
time.

Hkey_local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversi
on\uninstall\wintools

Any ideas as to how I can get past this bump?

Can you uninstall wintools, via add or remove programs, in Control Panel?

I can't Wintools doesn't show up in the listing of
applications available to remove.

Robert--the general lines of investigation I would pursue are:

1) keep looking into tools to remove what is (or was?) in place.
2) See if you can identify any more closely just what Microsoft Antispyware
is doing when it hangs. Is it attempting to remove something in the
registry?

Bill,

Thanks for all the help. It freezes while scanning the
registry at the mentioned point. it picks up 7 spyware
programs, the last being the Wintools Trojan. I've all of
the suggestions and can't fine WinTools trojan anywhere
but with this program. HELP!

It does involve registry editing which is a significant risk.

If you want, and if you are in the US or Canada, you can try calling
1-866-pcsafety and talk to the Microsoft PSS staff and see whether this
issue is covered under their free help for virus infections or security
patch related issues.
