freeze ups

since installing windows xp my printer freezes almost
everytime i try to print. this is a new printer hpdeskjet
3520. i have uninstalled and reinstalled but it still
freezes. took the computer and printer to a tech and was
told it had something to do with a missing file in windows
xp. can you help?

get your money back from the tech!he should have been
able to take your XP CD and fix the missing file,visit
www.hp.com or call them,there is a patch you may need
for certain brands of computers that run hp jet
printers.go find the patch for your model printer and
download it.thats www.hp.com or call the 800# on the
paperwork for it.stay away from the tech

Did the shop tell you what file is missing. If so, and
if you have an actual Windows XP installation cd, you can
explore the cd until you find the file and drag and drop
to the appropriate location in your Windows folder on
your hard drive. Also, try right-clicking and exploring
on your HP printer installation cd and see if there is an
HP software removal and cleanup utility. It probably
will be in the Util folder and may be entitled
HPAiOScrubber. Run the utility. Sometimes installing HP
printer drivers can be tricky and when you uninstall to
reinstall, files get left behind that can mess up the
reinstallation. This utility can sometimes solve that
problem. Good luck.
