freeze up

I have an HP Pavillion 514x runnining windows XP. It is
protect with the xp firewall and the latest norton
antivirus; But the computer lately has been running pop
ups becoming worst as the time progresses and as of now it
won't even boot up successfully, since it freezes
constantly and it can only be turned off by pulling the
power plug of the receptacle.
I need help in getting rid off the pop ups, but also of
any file that commands it to get more pop ups.
Please help with any suggestions. Thank's

Download Adaware and / or update Reference file from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
and use it to remove parasites.
