Freeware Text Compare Program

I was wondering if someone could help me find a freeware program I could use
to compare lists of text and numbers. What I would like to do is be able to
compare a list of numbers from two different text files and have the
differences between the two text files written to a third file. last year I
had to different freeware software programs that I used to do this but I
have lost both programs and can't remember the names of either of these
programs, they were both freeware programs you put in one text file and then
put in another text file and then pressed the go button and it would search
between both of these text files find the differences between the two files
and then it would write the differences to a separate file.

Does anyone in the group know of any programs that are freeware that do
this, if so any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

You might check:

WinMerge (OpenSource)
http://winmerge.sourceforge.net/

KDiff3 (OpenSource)
http://kdiff3.sourceforge.net/

ExamDiff (Freeware)
http://www.prestosoft.com/ps.asp?page=edp_examdiff

I like WinMerge most, but I'm not sure about the 'write differences to a
file' feature. It can generate patchfiles though.

Thanks to everyone for their help on finding this software, Steven sent me
one of the freeware programs I was looking for (Quick Compare ) is one of
the programs that save the differences to a third file, there is another
freeware program out there that does the same thing if anyone knows where I
can find it please let me know.
