Freeware for highlighting words in PDF files

tah

Hallo,
is there any real freeware to highlight words in PDF-files?

I have a CANON scanner that produces searchable PDF-files (that is very very
fine, and I am astonished that for this feature CANON does not advertise
more!!!)
Sometimes I want to highligth some keywords in a PDF-file - not more.

And for this I look for a real freeware with which I can highlight some
words in a PDF-file.

It is to expensive for me to pay $30-$400 to mark sometimes some words in a
PDF file.

I would be very thankful if anybody knows such a freeware!

I have tried PDF EDIT 2.x but not even in the demo version the PDF files
have the same quality - and it is not (!!!) freeware!

Thank you for suggestions!

Not really.

Scribus is quite close, but there is quite some conversion going on when
importing a PDF/PS-file, as Scribus is a general purpose DTP
application, remotely similar to InDesign.

[I omit telling you about the opportunity to insert stuff via a hex
editor, because it is probably not the way, that you would regard the
right one.]

Well, it's not really a feature of the scanner, but of the bundled software.

There is a list of (free and commercial) PDF editing software at
https://rnvs.informatik.tu-chemnitz.de/twiki/bin/view/Main/PdfEditingTools

Check yourself, if any of the low-priced products is of any use to you.
The list is far from complete, evt. search in pdfzone.com or similar PDF
software directories.

Which one did you try, there are a couple of products called "PDF EDIT"?
