Freeing Up Disk Space

I while back I tried to free up disk space by trying to
install a fresh copy of XP on another drive. Windows
copied all the files to the old XP drive, but would not
recognize my other drive during installation. When I
cancelled set up, it left all these other files there.

Should I reinstall windows to get rid of all these files,
or is there a way to scrub my C: of them?
