You can install and run Firefox 2 on a computer running Vista. I think
it actually runs better on Vista than on XP.

William

You can install it on Linux, Win98, WinMe, W2K and you can't install IE7
on those platforms. I guess that makes Firefox "better"?

Heh.

Thank You - will love to have Firefox with Vista I worried about a post
regarding 'limited use' (or something like this) I thought perhaps FF2 was
compatible but reading this now I will be trying an install very soon.
IE7 will take a back seat now much happier with FF back with me :)

Of course FF is compatible with Vista....

I have used it on various vista builds up to RC2

easy to use, even a Caveman, ... or my wife, can use it.'

I thought a saw IE7 on one episode of the flintstones....

nah.... cant be... hehe

well actually no... the logic is that you use firefox engine mostly.... and
only in some sites that have not been build to be
universally correct with all browsers (stab here) you can use the IE tab.

There are linux users who have no way to use IE... so those sites are
snobing them...

I believe that if you are going to make a site, find a way to make it for
everyone.

I'm really confused. I think you should have another version of IE7 that I
have.

Since I started using IE7 on Vista I'm in love with it. It's super fast, the
new interface is very well designed and much better. You need a couple of
days to get used to it after some years using IE6 but then is great.

All the new features and security options are good for me and has all the
features that IE6 missed from Firefox. For me is a perfect browser.

Regards,
Angel.

Speculation.

however, I am

I haven't seen you post a fact yet.

The gentleman is saying that he has NOT had a problem with Firefox, and you
do not call that a fact?

What else do you need.

Do you even actually read these posts? Or is it that you are so against
anything Microsoft that your emotions take over your sensibilities?

Good reply. I agree with you.

Although I don't agree with the bad comments about IE7. For me is a great
browser.

Angel.

OK, one fact.
What else do you need.

Let's see. A yacht. An island in the south Pacific. A cottage in the
mountains. A condo overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Magically become
18 again with all the knowledge I have now. A few million dollars in the
bank ...

Actually, I like XP and liked the previous OSes. I don't like the policy
of treating paying customers like criminals but I guess I'm just weird.

How many times do you have to post about how bad IE7 is? I understand it is
your opinion, but all the post written by you I've seen have been about how
bad it is. No offense, but it just seems like a bit much.

Personally, I like IE7. Just so you know, I have used many other alternative
browers before and I still prefer Internet Explorer.

:) Firefox 2 installed with Vista now - feel a lot better even though the
forum could not be accessed without permitting scripts. Fighting my way
through cookies atm but when all is settled I feel I have a much more user
friendly browser. I gave IE7 a good run with Vista for all this time but now
I have FF again it feels much better.
The forum looks and reads a lot better too.

I run IE7, FireFox 2.0 and Opera all on XP Pro and Vista RC2, and all run
fine with no problems.

Internet Explorer 6 was a piece of junk, however, Internet Explorer 7 is
the best thing since... well, move over sliced bread!

Pretty much depends on what web sites you browse, or how often you use it.
ie7 has the guillotine bug. plus they dropped the online support forum.

I had it, used it, liked the design, when they dropped the support forum, and said they were done fixing 7, I went back to 6.

Now I really need to find a way to remove ALL the changes ie7 made, because when I went back to 6, it left some of 7 bugs in.
I used the article 318378 How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP. It was useless.
I still have the bugs, and now have to reinstall all the updates.

Biggest problem it now won't handle a custom named frame on my web site. That it's handled for years. And it's JUST my ie6. Well I can't say that,as I haven't spoke with anyone else that installed 7 and went back to 6.

any pre-install advice as I yet to upgrade my XP computers to IE7?
I was looking forward to a tabbed IE but after using IE in Vista the
prospect of the new release for XP didn't have me downloading ASAP.
don't do it. They've dropped the support forum for it. and it has over 100+ pages at 25 problems per page.
I only used it for 2-3 weeks, but I spent a lot of time reporting and searching the bugs forum until they shut it down.
