FP2002 cannot publish

Vera S. Cabanus

Hi;

for some reason I cannot open any of my FP2002 web site on my PC (Window XP
with running server) when I am connected to the internet. I get the
following error message:

502 Bad Gateway
Bad Gateway
The following error occurred:
Code:
The host name was not found during the DNS lookup.
Contact your system administrator if the problem is not found by retrying
the URL.
Please contact the administrator.

I did the FP2002 repair step from the CD, but it did not help. When I am
not connected to the Internet I can work O.K.

Everything worked fine this afternoon, but I was "timing out" or it took me
a very long time to publish anything.

Please can somebody help me????

Thanks Vera

It's probably not FrontPage itself. Since you're connected to the Internet
when this happens, it is most likely the TCP/IP stack that is causing the
problems, as it tries to resolve your computername against the domain name
server used by the internet connection. Try instead opening the webs using
http://localhost, and if that fails, http://127.0.0.1, which is the loopback
IP address that basically points to your computer (and the localhost name
points to that IP address).

Hope this helps,

I cannot even open anything with //localhost or 127.0.0.1 as I get this:

Please try the following:

a.. Open the 127.0.0.1 home page, and then look for links to the
information you want.
b.. Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

c.. Click Search to look for information on the Internet.
d.. You can also see a list of related sites.

HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Explorer
When I try to open my computer name with browser I get:

The following error occurred:
Code:
The host name was not found during the DNS lookup.
Contact your system administrator if the problem is not found by retrying
the URL.
Please contact the administrator.
