FP does not publish changed image files

I am using FP2003. I made changes to a page and its embedded jpegs. When I
went to publish, it was not publishing the jpegs.
When I investigated, I found that in the publish dialog, it shows the date
on these files as the previous date, before I changed them - not today's date.
When I right click on the jpegs in the folder list, it also shows the old
date. However, in Windows Explorer, it correctly shows the files as being
changed today. Any ideas what might be going on?
Thanks

Make sure you always import the photos into the web, and in some case you have to delete the
original files first.

When you change content outside of FrontPage the new versions should be
Imported into the web, not placed there using a save dialogue. Failing to
import will result in the meta data not being updated, and the meta data is
where the filedates displayed in FrontPage are taken from.
Tools->Recalculate Hyperlinks may update the meta data.
If it doesn't, File->export the images to your desktop, delete the images in
the web, then File->Import the images back into the web.

I have refreshed the folders. In fact I tried closing and reopening FP.

I am not changing content outside of FP, the files are part of the web, and
I am making the changes in FP.

How are you changing the photos, as they can not be created within FP.

They need to be saved from the application that is being use to create/modify them to your desktop
or a folder on your HD, that is not within the web, then imported into FP prior to using.

I changed the size of the image by right clicking on it and going to picture
properties. Then the Save Embedded File dialog comes up and I say OK.

Refreshing the folders is not the same as Tools->Recalculate Hyperlinks.

Changing images using FrontPage is not a good idea - FrontPage is not a good
image editor, and will cause more deterioration to the images than a real
image editor would.
