Forum Log off

Recently while on a forum I was logged off and had to re-logon.
This is the detail:
I was replying to a previous post, my reply was quite lengthy.
After completing my reply which took about an hour (thinking
what I wanted to say, typing it and then editing it) I hit the preview
button to see how it displayed on the screen before actually submitting it.
After hitting the 'preview button' I was taken to a screen which required me
to re-logon, which I did.
It then took me back to where I was typing only to see all that I had wrote
was gone.
I complained to the forum Admin and they suggested it may be
my computer settings.
I suspect the forum itself timed me out.
Are there any settings in my XP pro that would cause a time out on a forum?
I think this unlikely.

The only setting in win is one that disconnects your internet connection
after a period of inaction, and then you should have a popup to warn you.
Many sites that require a log in will disconnect you after a period of no
activity, eg Bank sites, composing a post constitutes no activity, after
whatever period is set in that site
So its a setting specific to that site

Thanks DL, I thought as much.
