Format Maxwell DVD Blank Disk

With MS XP Home Edition I tried to burn a file to a new Maxwell 4.7 GB
DVD-RW Disk and the error dialog stated it could not read (?) the file as
the disk might be corrupt or using a format not compatible with Windows.
What formats do Windows use? Is there a way to determine the format the disk
will accept? Tried this on another disk from the same box and no luck. The
DVD drive seems ok as it plays other files.

The built-in CD burner in Windows XP burns CDs only, not DVDs. You
need a third-party program to do this.

Windows XP is limited in that it can only burn a CD.
If you want to burn DVD(s) then you need a third party
program like Nero or Roxio Creator.
