form submission

How do I control where a form is emailed to? When the form is filled out I
have a mailto hyperlink on the submit button - but it's not sending the
information from the form to the email address I have specified.

Thanks!

Right click anywhere in the form, choose Form Properties, and specify where
the form data goes within the properties dialogue.

You should not put any hyperlink on the submit button.

1. Remove the mailto link from the submit button.
2. Right click the form, select form properties and enter the email address
there.
3. The email address must be one associated with your domain. eg.
(e-mail address removed)
4. Make sure your host has enabled form mail on your server.

Hi BG,

Does the server support the FP Server Extensions? If so, then you'd right click the form | form properties and make the settings
there.

Maybe *must* is too strong of a word, but it seems to make life much easier when
setting up forms.

come to think of it, I did do this a couple of times with a client who changed email addresses as often as most people change underwear.

Many host have started only to allow email sent from a domain to only be delivered to an email
address within the domain as a way to prevent their email servers from being hijacked for spamming.

?

Now I am confused.

If a form is on a website, and that form sends an email to another domain,
what is the difference between that scenario and any external email coming
in from outside of that other domain?

The issue is the hacking into a site and then using the web site's email script to send spam as if
it was coming from the specific web site. By limited the email generated by a form on the web site
to an email address within the domain of the web site, the problem is eliminated.
