Boot to Safe Mode. At the Welcome screen choose Administrator.
Unless modified, the account should use a "Null" (Empty) password.
Click Start, Run ( Type ) Lusrmgr.Msc [Enter]
When the console view opens click Users in the Left Pane. Right
click your 'Day-to-Day' user account in the Right Pane and from the
context menu, Left Click "Set Password".
There is also a bootable utility that allows you to reset/change any
account password. ( 4 out of 10 on difficulty scale ). http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
After fixing this little problem with the tool suggested
by other posters, think for a moment about your car.
How many sets of keys do you have? More than one?
Why? Now consider your PC. How many accounts
do you have? Just the one? Why?

By design, the only way to log into the Administrator account of
WinXP Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing
CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login
dialog box.
Failing that, Linux-based password cracking utilities abound on the
Internet, freely available to anyone who can use Google.
