Fonts, PPT and mobility

I want to use a special font that I have installed on my machine but which I
know will not be avaialable on the target machine on which the presentation
will be run. I am using PPT97. Is there any way that I can take the font
across with the presentation - the possibility of installing it on the
target machine is not there.

TIA
Chris

A lot depends on the font and the permissions set on it by its owner, but if
it's a TrueType font, open the file, choose File, Save As and put a check next
to "Embed Truetype" on the Save dialog box (far right side).

The rules for embedding have changed a bit with each PPT version since 97,
getting a bit stricter with later releases. It may be possible to embed a font
using PPT 97 but be unable to use it in later versions.

I owe you an email anyhow, so if you want to send a sample PPT with embedded TT
font, I'll be happy to have a look. Let me know what versions of PPT you're
targeting.
