Font size

I am new to Windows xp. Inherited my daughter's
computer. The font size of web size is abnormally small,
can barely read it sometimes. I have tried increasing
the text size which helps somewhat, but it doesn't seem
to fix the whole page. For example, in these forums, the
sidebar subjects get larger, but the posts do not. Also,
on some other pages, the page does not fill the entire
screen and it is fully enlarged.

Hello,

One thing you can do with any Microsoft program, press and hold ctrl and use
the mouse wheel to roll up and down, they font size will get bigger and
smaller.

Note that it's not just Microsoft programs. This is a Windows
standard that works in many other vendors' programs too. As a
single example, it works in WordPerfect.

This is usually due to how the page is written. It's designed for smaller
displays and does not resize on larger desktops. No promises on the quality
of the results but you could try using Internet Options> General>
Accessibility> Ignore font size (or possibly "user style sheet") to get
around this.

Or drop the website a note and request that they consider redesigning the
page so that it automatically scales to the user's preferred display
settings. Don't expect results but if they get enough requests perhaps they
will consider changing the layout of the page.
