folder symbols disappeared in windows explorer

arno

hello,

my folder symbols have disappeared in the windows explorer after
software updates. all folderd symbols are gone except for those on
the right window when selecting "big symbols". the "hand" for public
available folders is visible, also the symbol for the active folder
("opened folder") is visible - so I am missing the "closed folder"
symbol.

Win2k Sp4 UR 1 Server, Terminal Server

du you have any ideas what's wrong? maybe the link to the appropriate
symbol files or the symbol itself is broken.

regards

arno

You may need to rebuild the Icon Cache.
For instructions on how to do this, see the article:

I did not try everything but deleting the ShellIconCache file from
the windows folder solved the problem. Further research showed
that the problem started when changing the color depth at the
server console, changing back did not help.

Thank you

I'm glad something helped.
Thanks for the feedback.
John
