Folder Redirection does not work for Publisher 2000, XP or 2003

Has anyone experienced problems with Microsoft Publisher (2000, XP and 2003) where it does not “look in†the correct My Documents location when this folder has been redirected either to a server or another location on the hard drive

When opening Publisher files from any of the iterations of Publisher, instead of going to the redirected My Documents location, it goes to the user’s local profile My Documents default location

We have a Windows 2000 domain with XP workstations

We are using the updated XP ADM files; all our users have local profiles

Actually, I have seen this problem even on my machine at home which does not belong to a domain. When I redirect “My Documents†to another location than the default C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\My Documents, Publisher always looks here even though all the other Office programs look in the new location.

Of course, I can manually go to the redirected My Documents location, but it is annoying that Publisher does not look in the redirected folder location first

If anyone has noticed this problem and/or has found a solution, I would appreciate hearing about it

Hi Peter-

The behavior you are seeing there is particular to Publisher, so it would be
best for you to post to the microsoft.public.publisher newsgroup.
