Folder Options - Views

When i click a folder in the right pane of windows explorer, it opens in a
new window. If I dbl clk the folder in the left pane it expands in the same
window. I don't want folders to open a new window. I have selected the
"Open each folder in the same window" in Folder Options/General tab but this
has no effect. This is new behaviour that only started about 3 weeks ago and
I cannot connect it to any event except that there may have been an automatic
software update (adobe picture viewer or some such which I don't use!!).

Any assistance appreciated. AA

Thanks Ramesh, It appears to have done the trick. Gotta say I was a bit
worried about saying yes to merge something I don't understand into my
registry but I went ahead wth trepidation. IF things go pear shaped down the
track I'll be chasin' you
:)

Cheers

You're welcome, Asquared. .REG/.VBS/.JS are plain-text files, which can be viewed using Notepad (or any other text editor for that matter) before applying them. The REG file that I pointed to, simply resets certain settings for Folders/Drives to defaults, thereby fixing the original problem.
