folder option help

Hello
I'm new to XP (Home Edition)

I want my "arrange icons by" drop down menu to include date created in my
folders. I go into "choose details" and add it, but the next time I go in
that
folder, the choices have reverted back to default.
Is there a way I can force the items to stay the way I want it?

Also, my choice for folder picture changes back after I've customized it as
well, tho only when I add items to the folder.

Someone please tell me there is a way to save my changes!!

Gina,

You could try this:

1) Launch Windows Explorer and go to one of the folders say My
Documnets;
2) Arrange the folder as you want it by going to details as you
explained;
3) Now click on Tools, Folder Options, View [this is a tab]
4) Click on apply to all folders;
5) Click OK
6) Close Windows Explorer

Now re-launch Windows Explorer and see if the settings apply as you want
them!

Once you change the "details" in a given folder, the same details should
show up the next time you open the folder. However, contrary to what
Windows suggests, the changes will not always ripple down to the sub
folders. A possible solution by Keith Miller can be found at:
