Benji; I read the responses to your to your post. Try rebooting. Your
PC (disk drive) is not recognizing the format of the diskette).
I recently purchased a Sony Majica MVC-FD73 Camera that store pics on
3.5 inch 1.44MB floppies. I opened a new 25 pack of SONY HD IBM
formatted 3.5 inch diskettes. I took a few pictures but when I tried
accessing the floppy with my HP PC (running XP) I got the same error
i.e. "A:\ is not accessable.
No ID address mark was found on the floppy disk." I used the camera
to copy the pictures to another SONY diskette & had the same problem.
I read the owners manual to the Sony Camera and the formatting of the
diskettes was compatible to that required by the camera. I got the
same error with a 3rd diskette from the 25 pack and then pulled a
blank IMATION 3M 3.5 inch diskette and the diskette worked fine. I
reinserted the SONY and got the error again. It is interesting to note
that the camera did everything it was supposed to do and I could
view, copy, delete, etc., the pictures on the SONY as well as the
IMATION diskettes. Also, I was unable to format the SONY diskettes as
my PC would not recongnize the diskette as being inserted in my A:\
drive.
I figured the problem had to be my SONY diskettes since my HP PC
handled the IMATION diskettes fine and dicided I'd contact SONY about
the defective diskettes. I started my PC today and the now the same
SONY diskettes that were previously unreadable are working fine!
IMHO, it's the floppy diskette causing the problem. If the problem
recurs after rebooting your PC then contact the diskette manufacturer.
Suggest you retry & if getting the same error, try another diskette
preferably by another manufacturer. If still getting the error, reboot
and the problem should disappear. If not, contact your disk drive
manufacturer.
