Nancy,
You can only flip pictures or AutoShapes and such not a document. What are
you trying to achieve exactly? You can put the page in landscape, is it that
you want?

I would like to know how to flip a document when the option is grayed out in
the draw tab.

The Draw > Rotate or Flip menu items are active only when a drawing
object (AutoShape, line or arrow, or WordArt) is selected. Word has no
way to flip a whole document.

Some printers provide that option in their Properties dialog. In
Word's File > Print dialog, click the Properties button next to the
printer name and search through the dialog for anything that refers to
"flip" or "mirror image" or "t-shirt transfer". Different printer
models have different ways of doing this, with a checkbox or a
dropdown or some other control.

Also refer to http://www.gmayor.com/rotate_text.htm for more ways.
