Fishsaver 2 by Marimosoft

In case anybody's interested, I just posted that screensaver to
alt.binaries.freeware. It's the version I use and the newest version
that runs on my system. Look for the file "fishsaver2.zip".

I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett, Doc (who uses sock puppets)
or Roger Johansson, for instance. No adware, cdware, commercial
software, crippleware, demoware, nagware, PROmotionware, shareware,
spyware, time-limited software, trialware, viruses or warez for me, please.

Did you send this out as a multi-part message? If so, file 2/13 is
missing.

Yes.

It was a yEnc I posted using Yenc PowerPost. I just used GrabIt to
successfully download that file, so the portion you're missing must not
have propagated to your newsfeed.

I'll post it again for you.

John:
I can't see alt.binaries, how large is this file, is it a aquarium view?
And what are requirements for it?

Any other place to get it?

Thanks,

Mike Sa

I can't fogure out how to open "alt.binaries.freeware". Is there a
trick to it?

George,
You'll need to use your usenet reader to subscribe to the
alt.binaries.freeware newsgroup in order to get the file I uploaded. And
because it's a multipart file, you'll need to use a usenet reader
program like Grabit:

http://www.shemes.com/

to download and reassemble all the parts of the file.

Mike,
The file isn't available on the internet AFAIK. And the name of the
group you need to subscribe to is "alt.binaries.freeware". I suggest
that you read the reply I posted to "George" in this thread.

Bear in mind though, that your ISP may not allow access to that group OR
the newsfeed they use (assuming that they don't have their own usenet
servers) may not propagate that group.

Thanks, John.

Being on individual.net, it sees no binary groups.

I checked again this morning. Part 2 is still missing. I tried
combining the remaining parts but it still wouldn't unzip the archive.
Any chance you could post it again? Can Thunderbird post it or must it
be done via yenc?

maybe you need a provider who offers binary groups - only the minority does and they'll charge you for this service.

Supernews (my ISP's choice of newsfeeds) places limitations on the size
of files that you post. I have to multipart it. Sorry.

Is anybody else having a similar problem getting all the parts?

Regardless, I'll post it one more time for you, but if it doesn't come
through then I don't know what to tell you.

Are you using Grabit to get the file? If not, I highly recommend that
program:

http://www.shemes.com/

Super easy to set up and use, very reliable too. A great program for
downloading binaries.

Thanks John,

now please refresh my memory, how do you join the 13 pieces? The last
time I had the opportunity to join a split zip file, it came with a
batch file that put all of the pieces together. Thanks in advance.

Zo,
As I've said in other replies to this thread, you should use the
*most excellent* Grabit:

http://www.shemes.com/

to download the file. It will reassemble the parts automatically for
you. In fact, you don't even see them as parts when you look at what's
available in the newsgroup via the program; it only show you the name of
the zip file that I posted. In other words, it makes the whole multipart
mess invisible to you.

Got it, thanks again John :blush:Þ
