Firewire

I recently purchased Sonic MY dvd.. i understand that I
need Firewire port..but I am not sure what that means. My
Hitachi dvd camcorder does not work with Movie maker or
Sonic MYDVD..I am using Windows Xp ..How can I find out
if I have this feature or How can I get it..thanks..
