I am currently using IE SP2 on Windows XP Professional. My ISP recommends
FireFox. I would like to try FireFox but I do not want to screw up IE
since it does seem to be working without any issues.
Will loading FireFox likely screw IE?
Not at all - in fact, I would recommend also getting the Open In IE Firefox
extension, that will allow you to right click in Firefox and open a link or
page in IE from Firefox - for those rare occassions where a page really is
built around IE. Both can be used simultaneously - when I blog, I use IE as
there is a tiny toolbar that is not visible in Firefox on my old blog
software. Very hand to have both. Plus, WindowsUpdate requires IE (fancy
that, huh?)...
Also, I recommend FlashBlock and AdBlock as well.
Firefox is the end of IE - and none too soon, hopefully Microsoft will
rework IE into a browser only product again, rather than it's intractable
and unnecessary integration into the shell and OS.
