Finding Old Photodeluxe Software

Hi:

I bought a Slimline parallel port scanner a few years back and it came
with Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0 which was fine for the minimal home scanning
I do. My old clunker PC gave out and I've have to move the scanner to
another (old) computer and the Adobe CD appears foggy and damaged. Not
sure what happened since it's been in it's sleeve, but it won't read in
the CD drive and buying new software is not a budget option for me
right now. I have pics of my son's high school graduation to scan for
the out of town family and am stumped. Is there any place I can
download this older version of the software to replace the damaged CD?

Any other suggestions?

Ebay is good for finding old stuff like that inexpensively, however your
scanner wont require using just that one program. The twain interface
means that if the scanner worked with Photodeluxe, it should work with
any other photo editor program too.

If you dont need serious editing capability, you can download the free
Irfanview from www.irfanview.com. It will run the scanner driver to
scan (menu File - Acquire), and it will save the file, and it is good
for scaling/resampling for printing, and is a great image viewer on the
video screen. However it is not really much of a tonal editor, not even
as much as PhotoDeluxe was. But it is free, and very popular and
useful, and I think it may be what you are looking for.
