file types

I am only able to save movies as .wswmm, what good is windows movie maker if
you can not save movie files as .wmv, .avi, .mpeg, etc. .wswmm files are not
even compatable with windows media player, where is the logic in that?

there are two things you can save....

the project file as a .mswmm file
the movie as a wmv or DV-AVI file

check the menu options and look for the one that says 'Save Movie'

i HAVE TRIED TO SAVE AS A AVI OR A WMV BUT THE ONLY THING IT SAYS IS MSWMM IN
THE DROP DOWN MENU...

yes, that's when you are saving the project..... use the File > Save Movie
option.
