File transfer XP to XP

I just bought a new laptop and would like to transfer files from my desktop. I
see the file transfer wizard, but I'd like to know what cable I need for the
job. Is it the type cable that connects my cable modem to my desktop, and I just
run it from one computer to the other? After that I can just follow the wizard.
Thanks.
