File Text Color in Windows Explorer

G

Gary Smith

I noticed when running Windows Explorer that I have mixed
file text colors. The text colors are black or blue. On
my other XP machine the file text colors are all black. I
think some program changed the color with its associated
files, but DLL and SYS files are blue. I tried using the
desktop advanced features, but it doesn't change the blue
text files only the black text files. Any suggestions on
how to return all the files back to black?

Black coloured files are "normal" files
Blue coloured files are compressed files.

Go to Tools
Folder Options
Select the VIEW tab
Scroll down till you see the:
Show encrypte or compressed NTFS files in colour.
