File System Structure Problem - Need Help

Tech Support from Acronis told me that a particular error I experienced
with their product was caused by "

"This happens due to an error in the file system structure that causes
the boot-time defrag engines in Diskeeper 2008 to terminate
immediately. "

Can someone tell me what this means and how to fix it? I've asked
Acronis but haven't received a reply in a week. Thank you......

Peter, thanks - but this just brings me to CHKDSK which I can access
from the Microsoft Recovery Console. I tried it anyway but I could
never get into my computer or Welcome Screen. I had to revert to the
Lasr Known Godd Configuration.

lost me there...did you run CHKDSK from the recovery Console??...did the
system resstart and then run chkdsk before XP started???
if you ran chkdsk from the recovery console what switches did you use??
CHKDSK
chkdsk drive /p /r
The chkdsk command checks the specified drive and repairs or recovers the
drive if the drive requires it.The command also marks any bad sectors and it
recovers readable information.

You can use the following options:
/p : Does an exhaustive check of the drive and corrects any errors.
/r : Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.

I ran CHKDSK C: /R

It should have corrected any problems - but I still can't run Error
Check (Still freezes with a black screen and freezes before the Welcome
Screen).
