File Sharing works one way

Hi Chuck, Office_computer is below. a note on office_computer; it came back
with an "access 5" error but did finish running cdiag. not sure if this
means anything...Once again cannot map "zach_computer" from "office_computer"
without adding "\c" to the "zach\computer" mapping. THanks as always!

Here is what I ran for office_computer. Zach_computer in separate post due
to size limitations on posting.

Brian,

OK, CDiag indicates just 2 faults:
# Office_Computer cannot "net view" Zach_Computer by name.
# Office_Computer cannot "net view" Zach_Computer by IP address.
This is consistent with your previous report that:
I must map using "ZACH_COMPUTER\C" or applicable file share. It will not allow
me to map "directly" to "ZACH_COMPUTER".

Is NetBIOS Over TCP explicitly Enabled on Zach_Computer?

Other than possibly missing NBT, this is quite likely a personal firewall
problem. Look for any security program, such as an antivirus or antiworm
protection.

Netbios is activated on zach_computer and office_computer.

FYI - LMHosts is "not" enabled on zach_computer and "is" enabled on
office_computer.

I will keep searching on the "firewall" issue. for the record, i have
windows firewall protection activated:
Are there settings in there i should be concerned with?

I am running PC-Cillion Internet Security Suite 2006 and for the best of my
knowledge have "disabled" personal fire wall settings.

Brian,

Suspecting at least that the problem is on Zach_Computer, let's look at the LSP,
and see if it provides a clue. Run "netsh winsock show catalog" on
Zach_Computer please.
