Hello,
I am in the process of migrating user settings from the office computers to
new machines.
I have been using Windows XP's built-in File & Settings Transfer wizard, and
the Office 2003 Save My Settings wizard to do most of the work.
One thing I've noticed is that the seamlessness of the transfer is different
from PC to PC. On some computers, I just run the two wizards and everything
is transferred over perfectly.
On others, I have to do some minor tweaking - specifically in regards to
Outlook 2003 settings.
So far this has worked without major problems. However I have encountered
one computer where the user has apparently installed a lot of "plug-ins" (for
lack of a better term) into the Outlook program that are not transferring
over no matter what I try.
Re-installing them from scratch is not an option at this point
In any case, why is the F&S Transfer wizard behaving so differently between
machines?
Is there a way to flawlessly transfer Outlook settings?
All of the old PCs are identical to each other save for RAM amounts.
Likewise all the new PCs are also identical.
Thank you.
