File Protection

I have an application which provides its own ocx and dll files, however when
SP2 is applied it overwites these files. Copying them back invokes file
protection which puts back the XP SP2 versions. I have seen various manual
methods of disabling file protection by using hex editors. However I need to
automate the process for multiple machines and cannot do this manually at
each PC. Is there any way to disable file protection , ie, programmatically?
