file properties

I have installed XP Pro and service pack 1&2, when I go into the explore area
and try to right click for properties on anything in the tree, I get an error
and my computeer freezes and I must reboot. Everything seems to be working
ok exept when I try to ger properties of a file or component. Any
suggestions???

Try running Ad-ware SE and other spyware detecting programs - I found that a
problem with "Properties" and "sharing" went away after I ran Ad-Aware and
erased all the suspicious objects it found.

In my case, the computer did not freeze, but these two tabs were
inaccessible.

tried both the Adaware and line 203 of kellys korner. I can now get
properties for all thing exept my drives. It still says error must close
down, then it says Dr. Watson Post mortem problem and locks up and I must
reboot??????
