Cannot View Properties of Files And Directories

I am running XP Pro SP2 on a Dell with an NTFS partition. If I right click
on a directory from Windows Explorer and select properties, or sharing and
security, I get no properties window, in fact nothing happens. This seemed
to occur after the installation of IIS on this box.

Let your Firewall Program (Norton Internet Security in my case), to "Allow
All" for inetinfo.exe and reboot.

An easy way to see if this is potentially your problem is to look for the
Status of World Wide Web Publishing Services. If it says "Starting", then
you have this problem. After allowing all for
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\inetinfo.exe" in my Firewall program settings,
and rebooting, not only did my Properties Window show up again, but the
system boots much more quickly.
