File/printer sharing problems

In the last few days I've been unable to get file/printer sharing working
between my XP home w/SP2 computer and a pair of Win98SE computers. It doesn't
work in either direction (from XP machine to Win98SE machine or vice versa).
Of course file and printer sharing is enabled on all machines and shares have
been defined. Everything was working fine until a few days ago. I have not
installed any new software or made configuration changes.

On the XP machine I cannot start Security Center or Windows
Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). I get "Error 1749: The security
context is invalid". These services had been working fine.

Any ideas on a fix?

Just a suggestion, but have you checked for viruses, or maybe spyware?

Yeah, I've run AVG Free, Spyway S&D, and AdAware and haven't found anything...

The stupid thing is that I have a ghost image of C: (where not much more
than just the OS resides) but it's on one of the Win98SE machines and it is
2.5GB. I now see the error in not keeping a local copy. :)

Thanks,

Kirk
