File Limbo

A user deleted a file from his home directory yesterday,
and now wants the file back (this is a client/server base
setup). However, when we look in the recycle bin, both on
his local machine and on the server where the homedir is
located, There is no file to be found. Is the file gone
forever, or is it in limbo somewhere? Thanks in advance
for your help.

Copy it over from the backup tape. It's not on the server anymore. If
you don't have a backup tape you will be wanting to correct that oversight.
