Hi,
I have several reference files in a database on my server. Several users
have simple front ends on their PCs linked to the database. The tables are
read-only, for reference purposes, nobody is doing any updating. It doesn't
get any simpler or more straight-forward. The problem is that sometimes one
of my users gets a "file in use" message when she tries to open the file.
Even stranger, if she opens the file first, the others can get in without
problem but if someone else opens before her, she is locked out. Everyone has
the same front end. There's no security of any kind.
Anyone ever hear of something like this? Any ideas?
TIA,
Lynne
